Super Falcons goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie has won the 2025 CAF Women’s Goalkeeper of the Year award for the third consecutive year at the CAF Awards in Rabat, Morocco, www.aclsports.com reports.
The 25-year-old has claimed the award every year since its introduction in 2023, reaffirming her dominance between the posts across Africa.
Nnadozie’s triumph caps a remarkable year. She was pivotal in the Super Falcons’ victorious return to the WAFCON throne in Rabat, keeping four clean sheets in six matches and earning the Golden Glove as the tournament’s top goalkeeper.
At club level, her year was equally impressive. She played a key role as Paris FC stunned Paris Saint-Germain Féminine in the Coupe de France Féminine final, keeping a clean sheet and saving two penalties in the shootout. She also helped Paris FC reach the French league playoffs, showcasing her consistency and leadership.
She was also nominated for the 2025 Women’s Yachine Trophy at the Ballon d’Or, finishing fourth, and has recently been shortlisted for The Best FIFA Women’s Goalkeeper award.
Her hat-trick of CAF triumphs strengthens Nigeria’s legacy in women’s football, making her one of the few Nigerian players to win a CAF award three years in a row.
Meanwhile, Morocco have now replicated Nigeria’s famous 2023 double, with Achraf Hakimi and Ghizlane Chebbak crowned the 2025 CAF Men’s and Women’s Players of the Year. This mirrors the historic feat achieved by Nigeria’s Victor Osimhen and Asisat Oshoala in 2023, the first time any nation swept both top awards in the same year.
Hakimi’s standout season for Paris Saint-Germain, where he won five trophies in 2025, alongside his consistent performances for the Atlas Lions earned him the men’s honour. Chebbak’s leadership in guiding Morocco to back-to-back WAFCON finals, as well as finishing as the tournament’s top scorer, secured her the women’s crown.
Their victories underline Morocco’s rapid rise in African football.
