Nigeria U20 World Cup player Tom Dele-Bashiru, has swapped Manchester City for Watford on a free transfer, www.aclsports.com can confirm.

Dele-Bashiru has sealed a six-year contract with the Hornets which will see him stay at the club until the summer of 2025, the club confirmed on Wednesday.

“Watford is pleased to announce the signing of Nigerian Under-20 international Tom Dele-Bashiru after his contract expired at Manchester City, ” the club said in a statement.

The talented central midfielder, who made his senior debut for the Premier League champions during their Carabao Cup quarterfinal match against Leicester City last season, joins another Nigerian and former youth international, Isaac Success, at Vicarage Road.

The 19-year-old is excited by his move and cannot wait to get started at the club.

“(I am) very happy to announce the new chapter in my career, ” Dele-Bashiru said. “I can’t wait to get started and play in front of you amazing fans Watford.”

The central midfielder was part of the Flying Eagles team that represented Nigeria at the 2019 FIFA Under-20 World Cup in Qatar, where he scored one goal.
