Nigerian para-athletes are ready to compete against their peers from across the continent when the Ghana 2023 African Para Games begin, the Paralympic Committee Nigeria (PCN) has disclosed.

The Games which hold from 3rd -12th September in Accra, Ghana will serve as a prelude to the main All Africa Games scheduled to hold in Ghana next year.

According to the president of Paralympic Committee Nigeria (PCN) Sunday Odebode, the athletes have been training hard for the Ghana 2023 African Para Games and they are fully ready for the podium to make the country proud.

He disclosed that Nigeria would feature in three events, including wheelchair basketball (male and female), wheelchair tennis (male and female), and amputee athletics (male and female) at the games.

“I can state categorically that the team is fully ready and well prepared for the Games. Though it is not going to be an easy ride with the level of preparation adequately put in place, our athletes are in fully top gear, well equipped and prepared for the games,” he said

Also speaking, the PCN Secretary, Suleiman Isah, assured that all hands are on deck to ensure a successful outing for the team Nigeria stressing that the athletes are in a good frame of mind to make the country proud.
