Owolabi said, “I feel honoured because I have always been putting my best in previous matches and I consider my time will come. This night against Cameroon is my night and I give God all the glory.

“I have learnt a lot from the African Nations Cup and it is very competitive. The rate at which teams played has opened my eyes to so many improvements in the game of handball. I will not forget to thank the President of Handball Federation of Nigeria, Sam Ocheho for the long and eventful preparations before the nation’s cup”.

Libya placed 13th position, Ivory Coast finished 14th position, Kenya occupied 15th position while Zambia came 16th.
