Aliyu Zubair‘s side, who arrived in the South American country some days ago, faced off against the tournament hosts as they fine-tune their preparations ahead of the 24th FIFA U20 World Cup finals that start seven days from now.

Remo Stars defender, Ahmed Akinyele, broke the deadlock in the 18th minute, rising highest to nod home Tahir Maigana’s corner to hand Nigeria the lead. Chile, however, restored parity 18 minutes later courtesy of Felipe Faúndez. Shortly after the restart, goalkeeper Ebenezer Harcourt pulled off a pair of crucial stops within a minute to prevent the South Americans from going ahead.

The trio of Abduljelil Kamaldeen, Kparobo Arhieri, and Auwal Ibrahim were introduced in the second half as Zubair made changes to his squad. However, the game could not produce a winner, as they settled for a share of the spoils.

The Flying Eagles will take on the Australia U20 team in another friendly match on Tuesday before they face Norway in their group opener on September 29 in Talca.
