The head coach of Niger United Handball Club, Yekini Adebayo has called for total support from the State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago ahead of the second phase of the 2023 Ardova Handball Premier League.

Niger United HC are currently topping the league table after the end of the first phase in Benin, Edo State last July.

Adebayo explained to www.aclsports.com that the association members of Niger State Handball Association have been bankrolling the team to the handball league for some years.

The former National coach hopes the new government will intervene in the issue and motivate the players to win the 2023 Ardova Handall Premier League.

He said, “We need the Niger State Government to intervene in our affairs and motivate the team ahead of the second phase of the 2023 Ardova Handall League.

“The members of the Niger State Handball Association have been the sponsors of the team for a couple of years; they have kept the club afloat and ensured we were not relegated from the elite league.

“It is time for his Excellency, Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago to invest in handball for us to return the trophy back to Niger State this season”, Adebayo told www.aclsports.com

The former Niger United handball club player said preparations for the second phase has commenced and the team will redouble its efforts to retain the top spot.

He said, “I feel excited that Niger United are sitting on top of the log after the end of the first phase. The team played above average not well because we should have beaten Kano Pillars HC; a lot of work still needs to be done.

“Niger United have started preparations ahead of the second phase and we shall redouble our efforts to hold grip of the first position”, he added
