Nigerian forward Murjanatu Musa has won the French Ligue Féminine de Basketball title with Basket Landes after they defeated Tango Bourges Basket 53–50 in the deciding Game 3 of the finals on Sunday, www.aclsports.com reports.
Musa, who joined Basket Landes ahead of the season, recorded eight points, nine rebounds and two assists in the title-clinching Game 3, where she finished as the third-highest scorer on the night.
She also maintained consistent form throughout the finals, posting eight points and nine rebounds in Game 2, and eight points, three rebounds and one assist in Game 1, helping Basket Landes secure a second consecutive league crown and the third in their history following a 2–1 series victory.
The final was closely contested from the start, with both teams finishing the first quarter level at 15–15 and remaining tied at 27–27 at half-time. Bourges edged ahead in the third quarter, leading 40–36, but Landes produced a strong fourth-quarter response to swing momentum in their favour.
A decisive three-pointer from Marie Pardon with 17 seconds remaining proved crucial, before Landes closed out the game to secure the title.
Leila Lacan led the team with 19 points and was named Finals MVP as Basket Landes also completed a domestic double after winning the French Cup earlier in the season.
