MTN sponsors the accommodation of senior athletes for Champs/National trials…

The hotel accommodation of the Top 89 Senior Athletes registered for the MTN CHAMPS/AFN National Trials set to hold from Sat 17th–Wed 21st February 2024, will be sponsored by MTN, following their partnership with the Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN) ahead of the Trials which will be used to select Nigeria’s Athletics team to the forthcoming African Games taking place in Accra, Ghana, in March.

The MTN CHAMPS/AFN National Trials will hold at the Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba and will feature the first ever Senior Category at MTN CHAMPS.

All 89 Athletes must still confirm their participation by registering online at https://mtnchamps.com/registration and also email the AFN at ngr@mf.worldathletics.org with the same details to confirm their participation at the MTN CHAMPS/AFN National Trials.

The hotel sponsorship in Asaba for the 89 Senior Athletes will be for a maximum of 4 days for the duration of each Athlete’s event(s), starting from Friday 16th to Tuesday 20th, to cover the first 3 days of the 5-day event, which is when the Senior Trials is taking place.

Up to 99 Track and Field events will feature in MTN CHAMPS Asaba across the Cadet, Youth & Juniors (each taking place across all 5 days of the Event) and the Seniors (which as Nigeria’s Athletics Trials for the African Games will take place across the first 4 days only, given that the qualification deadline for the Athletics at the African Games will be on the 4th day, Tuesday 20th October).

For athletes competing in the Cadet, Youth & Junior categories, at least one parent or legal guardian must sign the Parental Consent Form, to be downloaded here https://mtnchamps.com/registration

ALL Athletes under the age of 21 must also print the 1-page parental consent form for their parent or legal guardian to sign and return at bib collection which will take place strictly on 15th & 16th February, in the 1 or 2 days before MTN CHAMPS/AFN National Trials in Asaba gets underway!
