English Premier League side, Liverpool have signed midfielder, Naby Keita from Bundesliga side, RB Leipzig for a club record fee.
The 22-year-old will officially join the Reds next summer after Liverpool agreed to pay his £48million release clause, plus an undisclosed premium, as per BBC.
Jurgen Klopp has been a long term admirer of the talented midfielder, and made him his main target this summer but Leipzig remained steadfast in their resolve that Keita won’t be leaving this summer.
This agreement comes just few hours after the Reds tabled a bid for Monaco ace, Thomas Lemar, with only a few days to the end of the transfer window.
Keita was part of the Leipzig side that shocked everyone to finish second in the Bundesliga last season, scoring eight goals, and assisting a further seven in 31 league matches.
Keita will wear the number 8 shirt when he finally joins the club next summer.
