Nigerian winger Samuel Kalu will sit out Girondins Bordeaux’s French Ligue 1 clash with Olympic Marseille on Friday night due to a hamstring injury, www.aclsports.com reports.

The 21-year old has battled with injuries since the turn of the year and last featured for the French side on March 9 – a substitute role in a 1-1 draw with AS Monaco.

Bordeaux’s Match day squad for the important clash with Marseille was announced on Friday morning and the Super Eagles star as well as Aurélien Chouaméni were conspicuously missing from the roster.

Experienced striker Jimmy Briand is expected to lead the Bordeaux attack for the game which will kick off at 7:45pm Nigerian time as the Paolo Sousa-led side search for their first league win since February 17.

Bordeaux who have lost only once in their last nine home games are placed 13th on the 20-team French Ligue 1 table with 35 points, thirteen less than their opponents Marseille who have not given up hopes of a top three finish yet.
