Barcelona come from behind to beat a difficult Alaves 2-1 at the Nou Camp on Sunday evening.

Lionel Messi scored a beautiful free kick late on to as Barca maintain their status as the only unbeaten side in Europe’s top 5 leagues this season.

Alaves were the last side to beat Barca at Camp Nou, and they looked like they were about to repeat the feat when John Guidetti gave them a shock lead at half time.

However, Luis Suarez, who received the La Liga player of the month award for December before kickoff, equalised for the hosts in the 77th minute.

It was Suarez’s eighth goal in eight La Liga games this season for the League leaders.

With the game poised for a draw, Messi scored an excellent free kick to complete the comeback, to seal all three points.

The win also means Barca have now gone 21 games unbeaten, equalling their best ever record in the league set in 2010 under former manager, Josep Guardiola.

Barcelona remain top of the table on 57points, 11 more than second placed Atletico Madrid, and 19points clear of bitter rivals, Real Madrid.

Up next for Ernesto Valverde and his Barcelona side is a trip to third placed Valencia, while Alaves host Celta Vigo.

There’s no stopping Leganes at the moment, as they recorded another morale boosting win, but this time in the league.

After their shock victory over Real Madrid in the Copa Del Rey semifinal in midweek, Leganes defeated a spirited Espanyol side 3-2 at home.

Mario Hermoso’s own goal opened the scoring for the hosts, before Marc Navarro equalised for the visitors after the break.

However, goals Guerrero and another Hermoso own goal gave Leganes a commanding 3-1 lead, with Hermoso ensuring a tense final minutes when he did well to score in the right net to pull another goal back for Espanyol.

Leganes would hold on for the win and three points, in what has been a very good week for them.
