Oluwakemi Adegbuyi and Christiana Uzoma have earned their first Super Falcons call-ups, while Ashleigh Plumptre returns to the squad for Nigeria Los Angeles 2028 Olympics qualifying tie against Comoros, www.aclsports.com reports.
Interim head coach Augustine Eguavoen has handed first senior invitations to Uzoma and Adegbuyi, who both impressed at youth international level. Uzoma was Nigeria’s goalkeeper at the recently concluded FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup, while Adegbuyi was named Player of the Tournament as the Flamingos won the WAFU B U17 Girls Cup on Sunday.
Plumptre returns to the defensive group, while captain Rasheedat Ajibade, six-time African Player of the Year Asisat Oshoala and goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie are among the experienced players included.
The squad also features several other youngsters, including Farida Abdulwahab, Tumininu Adeshina, Favour Nkwocha, Shakirat Moshood and Janet Akekoromowei.
Comoros are scheduled to host the first leg on Friday, 9 October, with Nigeria hosting the return fixture on Tuesday, 13 October. Both matches will take place at the Remo Stars Sports Stadium in Ikenne-Remo because Comoros do not have a CAF-approved venue for international matches.
