Ankara Keçiorengücü’s new signing Ibrahim Olawoyin has expressed his delight at his winning debut with the Turkish club last weekend.
Keçiorengücü defeated Adanaspor 2-0 in Ankara to record their first win in the new season at the third time of asking in a game that saw former Rangers International star Olawoyin make his debut for the club.
Nigerian forward Emeka Friday Eze scored the opening goal for Keçiorengücü early in the second half with Olawoyin coming on as an 85th minute substitute for second goalscorer Vüsal İsgəndərli.
“I am very delighted for the win,” began Olawoyin to www.aclsports.com
“That is the most important for me, my debut is secondary but it is also a great feeling for me to play my first ever football game outside Africa.”
Olawoyin spent two seasons with Rangers before joining the Turkish Division One club at the end of the 2020/2021 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season.
The 23-year old also assures that he will give his best to justify the faith the club’s hierarchy has in him and that of his teeming supporters back home in Nigeria.
“A lot of people were happy with my move and the management here (at Keçiorengücü) have also shown incredible faith in me.
“I know I have to give my best to justify their faith in me and that is what I am determined to do. The club narrowly missed out on playoff spot last season but I believe we can achieve the promotion this time,” added the ‘Nigerian Hazard’.
Keçiorengücü’s next league game comes up on September 11 away to Samsunspor.
