Liverpool have confirmed their squad for the first leg of their Champions League play-off against Bundesliga side, 1899 Hoffenhiem.
The 22-man squad includes Roberto Firmino, who will be facing his former club, new signing Mohammed Salah and Sadio Mane, but star midfielder Philipe Coutinho’s name was conspicuously missing.
The Brazilian playmaker has been intensely linked with a move away from Anfield this summer, with Camp Now touted as his likely destination.
The Reds depart for Germany this afternoon without their talisman, ahead of the opening meeting of two between the clubs to decide a place in the tournament’s group stages.
Spanish side, Barcelona have seen several bids for the 25-year-old rejected by Liverpool, who have maintained that the midfielder isn’t for sale at any price.
Liverpool lock horns with Hoffenhiem in the first leg at Rhein-Neckar-Arena on Tuesday night with the second leg at Anfield next Wednesday.
