John Shagari has expressed immense joy after winning the Ardova Handball Premier League title in consecutive years, marking a significant milestone in his career.

Shagari clinched the title with Niger United in 2023 and then repeated the feat with TojeMarine Handball Club in 2024, underlining his dominance in the competition.

The 2023 African Games bronze medalist shared his excitement with www.aclsports.com, describing the achievement as a dream come true.

“It feels incredible to win the title back to back. It’s a testament to the hard work, dedication, and commitment from both myself and my teammates. Being able to lift the trophy two years in a row is something I’ve always dreamed of.”

“TojeMarine HC has become like family to me. From the coaching staff to the players, there’s a strong sense of unity. It’s been an amazing journey, and I believe we can achieve even more together,” he added.

Looking ahead, Shagari expressed his aspirations for the next season.

“If I remain in Nigeria, my goal is to defend the title with TojeMarine. We have a solid team, and I believe we have what it takes to continue our dominance in the league.”

The young and ambitious handball player also expressed his desire to take his career to the next level, eyeing opportunities beyond the African continent.

“Playing outside of Africa has always been a dream for me,” Shagari said. “I believe the experience will not only enhance my skills but also allow me to represent my country on a global stage. It’s something I am really looking forward to”.

Shagari won a bronze medal with the senior national team at the 13th African Games in Ghana and was part of the squad that won the President Cup at the 26th African Men’s Nations Cup in Egypt.
