Niger United player, Mohammed Anas said he wants to conquer the World at the upcoming 2019 Under 20 handball World Cup in Spain.
Nigeria qualified for the World Cup after 33 years at last year’s Africa Nations Cup.
He told www.aclsports.com that winning the Prudent Energy Handball League meant a lot to him.
Anas who started handball in 2018 said he had insomnia after the team commending his coaches, Fidelis Obi and Agboola Shittu as well as the president of Handball Federation of Nigeria, Samuel Ocheho for his motivation.
He said, “Winning a bronze medal at the African Nations Cup, I feel very impressed not with myself but with the courage given to us by the Handball Federation of Nigeria (HFN), board members, my coaches (Fidelis Obi and Agboola Shittu) and with the support of handball family in the nation, and I also give my gratitude to the HFN president, Samuel Ocheho most especially with the motivation.
“I give my thanks to Almighty God for being among the courageous and unbelievable team. Right now, I am doing all I can to get myself back fit. My aim is not only to participate but to conquer nations at the World Cup in Spain”.
Anas who hails from Chanchaga Local Government Area in Niger State said “I feel excited lifting the league last year I never imagined my team could lift the trophy. I started my career with Niger state handball team and I have participated in several under age categories game, some I conquer, some I lost which I bless God for being opportune.
He said, “I think my toughest game ever was in Sweden when we played against Denmark in semi final, if I could remember the match, it was played inside rain a heavy rain in 2012”.
