The head coach of De Defenders, Sunday Ajana has told other clubs in the country that his side are here to compete and not to be underrated. Ajana told www.aclsports.com De Defenders signed three players to beef up their team ahead of the 2020 Prudent Energy Handball League in Abuja.

He said his team has corrected the mistakes of last season where they lost some crucial matches in the first phase.

Ajana said, “I am aware most teams think they can get unnecessary points from us but I tell you that no team should look down on my players.

“In order to perform well, we signed three players; Adegoke Bero from Owena Kings, Sanni Bature from Lagos Seasiders and Jacinta Ani from Kastina. They will add to the existing players and take us to the promise land”.

“Last season, we made terrible mistakes and it cost us valuable points. This time around, we will ensure we take every match seriously and by the grace of God, victory is ours”.

He commended the Handball Federation of Nigeria (HFN) led bu Sam Ocheho for staging the 2020 Prudent Energy Handball League.

“The players across the country are excited about the return of handball in the country. So many people thought that we would not play the league this year due to COVID-19 but the board of HFN led by Sam Ocheho put every preventive measure in place in order for the league to hold”.
