Two players of Guinean division one side Wakriya Athletic Club were killed in an accident while returning from their final game of the year against Loubha FC on Tuesday.

According to the club, the bus carrying the players lost its control and crashed into a parked truck, claiming the life of freshly recruited Sierra Leonean Alfred Kargbo on the spot, while Guinean midfielder Aboubacar Camara died from injuries in the hospital.

Defender Issiaga Camara and goalkeeper Amadou Koumbassa are currently hospitalized in critical conditions, the club said.

Last January, Wakriya’s captain Désiré Yaouvi, 23, was killed in a similar road accident on the club’s return from a league match, with another player and two members of the technical staff seriously injured.

Wakriya are fourth on the league table with 10 points after six matchdays.
