… targets gold at GASU Games 2025

Ghana Army Handball player, Lance Corporal Seth Botchway has revealed he is more determined to leave a mark in the sport. Botchway was adjudged the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award in the men’s handball event at the African Military Games 2024.

The Ghana Army officer told www.aclsports.com that he’s setting his sights on nothing short of gold at the 2025 Ghana University Sports Association (GUSA) Games.

“It feels so amazing and exciting to be awarded the Most Valuable Player (MVP) at the African Military Games 2024 on such a big platform.

“The 2024 season was a turning point for me; successful and more of learning. Each challenge and triumph has fueled my desire to grow in the game.

“The target for this year’s 28th GUSA Games is to come home with a gold medal as the champions. Representing the University of Cape Coast (UCC), Botchway hopes to elevate my game further and secure a place at the top of the podium, alongside the best athletes in Ghana.

The 28th Ghana University Sports Association (GUSA) Games  is scheduled between 3rd to 18th January, 2024 at the University of Cape Coast (UCC).

Botchway began his handball journey during his school days at Ebenezer Senior High School in Accra, where he first discovered his passion for the sport.

From there, he went on to play for Asomdwe Handball Club, gaining invaluable experience that would shape his career.

Since joining the Ghana Army in 2019, Botchway’s commitment to excellence has only grown stronger.

His dedication was recognized in 2022 when he won the award for Best Left at the Greater Accra Handball Association Awards, a testament to his skill and hard work.
