Players and officials of Nigeria Professional football league club FC Ifeanyi Uba were involved in an accident on Friday.

The accident occurred along Benin/Ore expressway while on their way to Ijebu Ode to honour the NPFL Matchday 37 fixture with Sunshine Stars billed for this Sunday, 3rd of September, 2017.

Six players sustained varying degree of injuries while two that were unconscious hitherto have regained consciousness and are receiving treatment presently at the closest medical facility near the site of the accident.

According to the chairman of the club, Chukwuma Ubah, ” we wish to express our felicitations for your concern, support, outpouring of emotions, deepest thoughts and prayers at this sad time. More details as regards if we would be able to honour the match on Sunday or not will be made known soonest.”Ubah disclosed.

Fc Ifeanyi Ubah currently sits in sixth place on the NPFL standings with 53 points from 36 games.
