Ex-Super Falcons of Nigeria player, Ayisat Yusuf-Aromire, has been named head coach of GirlPower United Afghans. The team is set to compete in a prestigious 4-nation summer camp tournament at the FIFA headquarters in Zurich, Switzerland, www.aclsports.com reports.
Yusuf-Aromire, a former defender who was part of the Nigerian squad that won the 2014 WAFCON, enjoyed a successful club career with top Nigerian sides including Nasarawa Amazons, Delta Queens, and Rivers Angels, as well as a stint with NiceFutis in Finland. She brings a wealth of experience and leadership to her new role.
Beyond her playing career, Yusuf-Aromire has built an impressive coaching résumé. She has served as a youth development coach in Finland, contributed to refugee integration projects through sport, and held assistant coaching roles at grassroots and semi-professional levels in Europe. Her dedication to empowering girls through football has earned her recognition beyond the pitch.
The GirlPower United Afghans, composed of young Afghan female footballers, have been training under Yusuf-Aromire’s guidance in preparation for the tournament, which runs from June 10 to 15.
