A grand reception awaits Chelsea Football Club Legend, Didier Drogba  in Lagos when he storms the State for the Governor Akinwumi Ambode testimonial game as Chelsea fans plan to receive him in Lagos.

Africa legend Samuel Etoo Fils, former Ivorian stars Didier Zokora, Siaka Tiene and Democratic Republic of Congo star Lomana Lualua have confirmed participation for the game.

Lagos fans have mapped out plans to receive Drogba when he storms Lagos on May 17 for African X1 versus Naija Legends game billed for the soccer temple in Agege.

Drogba and other invited African ex-internationals are expected in Lagos on the eve of the game which is being played to say a big thank you to out going Lagos State Governor, Akinwumi Ambode.

The coordinator of the event, Waidi Akanni disclosed that supporters in Lagos have confirmed to him that Drogba would be given a rousing welcome alongside Samuel Etoo Fils, Didier Zokora, and other Legends.

“Chelsea fans are planning big for Drogba’s arrival in Lagos,” Waidi disclosed.

On the event proper, Waidi said it would be a carnival of some sort at the Agege Stadium.

“It won’t just be football on that day. It would be football laced with entertainment. In the days ahead, we would unfold the list of artistes that would be thrilling the Agege crowd. Also, many other African football legends like Didier Zokora, Siaka Tiene, Lomana Tresor Lualua have also confirmed participation for the game. In fact they have sent video clips stating their readiness to play in the football match”, Akanni said.

Akanni is also excited that virtually all the African legends invited for the event have all confirmed that they would be in Lagos for the game.

The Nigerian ex-internationals are putting the event together as a way of saying “thank you” to a governor who showed them love and supported football.
