Former Nigeria U20 midfielder, Daniel Daga, has agreed to a new deal with Norwegian side Molde until the summer of 2031, www.aclsports.com reports.
The 19-year-old midfielder, who recently returned to playing after being cleared on appeal in a rape case, has demonstrated his potential and will continue his development wearing the blue-and-white jersey.
“First and foremost, I thank God. I am very happy to have signed a new contract. I enjoy being in Molde immensely, and the club holds a special place in my heart. We have a fantastic squad and an exciting future ahead of us. I am proud to continue this journey and fight for this jersey,” said Daniel Daga on the club’s website.
“There are many exciting things happening at Molde that I want to be a part of. At the same time, I feel this is the right place for me to continue my development. I want to thank the club, the support staff, and the supporters. I look forward to what lies ahead,” the former Enyimba man added.
The Nigerian midfielder arrived at Molde ahead of the 2025 season and has so far made 22 official appearances for the club, recording five goals and one assist. Recently, Daga has delivered several strong performances, showcasing his capabilities in midfield.
Sporting Director Ole Jakob Strandhagen is pleased that Daga has chosen to extend his contract with the club.
“Daniel is a young, ambitious player with qualities that already make him important to us. At the same time, we believe he has significant potential for further development. He is eager to learn, works with great focus every day, and has a strong desire to improve,” said Molde’s Sporting Director Ole Jakob Strandhagen.
“We have great faith in Daniel’s continued development, and the club will ensure the right conditions are in place for him to keep taking new steps forward.” “The fact that we have now entered into a long-term agreement shows that both Daniel and the club have faith in our sporting partnership and the path ahead. We are very pleased about this,” Strandhagen added.
