With calls from several national teams to postpone the upcoming 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers in the wake of COVID-19 epidemic, CAF is bent on maintaining its calendar, with Lesotho announcing a full closure of all its borders.

Travelling to and out of Lesotho is henceforth prohibited until further notice, “as a precaution against the risk of infection by the coronavirus”, the authorities of the Kingdom announced on Thursday.

Lesotho have been scheduled to host Benin in Maseru on March 29 in Group L which also includes Nigeria and Sierra Leone.

The Squirrels will likely not travel to the southern African country for the encounter and it remains unclear if CAF will hand sanctions.

Lesotho boast of just a point and a third place in the group after two matches played.
