Nigeria representatives in the CAF Champions League, Rivers United, will know their opponents in the group stages next week Monday, November 3rd, www.aclsports.com reports.

According to CAF, the Interclub Group Stage Draw will take place on Monday, 3 November, at SuperSport Studios in Johannesburg, with proceedings starting at 14:00 SA time (1pm Nigerian time). The draw will be streamed live on CAF’s official digital channels.

The 16 teams will be divided into four groups of four, with matches beginning in November. The top two in each group will advance to the quarter-finals as the battle for Africa’s biggest club prize intensifies.

Rivers United booked their spot in the group stage for the first time, after overturning a first-leg defeat at the hands of Black Bulls in Uyo on Saturday. Wasiu Falolu and Maclyn Biokpo gave Rivers United a comfortable half-time lead before Moctar Diallo’s goal swung the tie in favour of the visitors. However, Timothy Zachariah’s goal ten minutes from time ensured Pride of Rivers Progressed.

The race to reach the TotalEnergies CAF Champions League group stage has produced 14 confirmed qualifiers, with two remaining berths to be decided next week when Pyramids FC and RS Berkane play their postponed second-leg fixtures.

Apart from Finidi George‘s side, the likes of Mamelodi Sundowns, who knocked out Remo Stars, Stade Malien, etc, have booked their spots in the group stage of Africa’s premier competition.

Al Ahly (Egypt), Mamelodi Sundowns (South Africa), Rivers United (Nigeria), Esperance Tunis (Tunisia), AS FAR Rabat (Morocco), JS Kabylie (Algeria), MC Alger (Algeria), Petro de Luanda (Angola), Simba (Tanzania), Stade Malien (Mali), Power Dynamos (Zambia), Al-Hilal Omdurman (Sudan), Young Africans (Tanzania) St. Éloi Lupopo (DR Congo), Pyramids FC(Egypt)/Ethiopian Insurance(Ethiopia), and RS Berkane(Morocco)/Al Ahly Tripoli(Libya).
