The Director, Directorate of Physical Training Nigeria Army, Brigadier General Ola Olatoye has attributed the success of the Nigeria Army to the support of the Chief of Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai.

Brigadier General Olatoye stated this shortly after David Faleye of Nigeria Army won the 2018 Asoju Oba Men’s single table tennis event in Lagos.

Olatoye told www.aclsports.com that the chief of staff in early 2018 purchased sports equipment for various sports in Zaria, Kaduna.

He said, “The Chief of Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai is the brain behind the success of the Nigeria Army in the sports sector. We just won the 2018 Asoju Oba Men’s single in Lagos and few months ago the Nigeria Army won gold at the Korea Ambassador Open in Abuja.

He said the army intends producing athletes who will represent the country in most of the sports.

“The aim of the Chief of Staff is for the Army to have its officers in all the sporting federation. The Army was at an international military cross country championships last week and placed 3rd. All hands are on deck to ensure the Nigerian Army occupies the front seat in Nigerian Sports” Olatoye said.
