He said, “By the grace of God, I believe I will do better at this year’s championship. With the continued support of my coaches and teammates, I will give my best effort and trust that God will crown my hard work with success.

“Winning the bronze medal at the previous edition was challenging, but it only made me more determined to improve”.

He revealed that his training programs have been vigorous, promising to put all his efforts to get better results in the 2025 season.

He added that the key to growth in the sport lies in exposure.

“My training has been very vigorous, and I feel it’s been the best I’ve had so far. I am putting in everything I have to achieve even better results.

“Participating in tournaments with the best players in Africa and around the world is an essential stepping stone to improving my game,” he added.

Ikechukwu said his ultimate goal is to represent Nigeria at the Olympics.

“My dream has always been to compete at the Olympics. With the grace of God, hard work, consistency, and the support of the President of the Badminton Federation of Nigeria, Francis Orbih, as well as my wonderful sponsor, I am confident this goal will one day be a reality,” he said.
