2021 National Discus Champion, Utitofon James Sam told www.aclsports.com that she hopes to compete at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

The Paris 2024 Olympic Games is scheduled to take place from 26 July to 11 August 2024 in France, with Paris as the main host city and 16 other cities spread across France.

Sam revealed that she wants to win more laurels for Texas State University and make more impacts in the NCAA.

She said, “Some of my plans for the 2024 season is to make the Olympic team in Paris for Nigeria. It is the dream of every athlete to be featured at the biggest sporting event. I also want to make an impact in the NCAA Nationals as well as winning medals for my school.

“I would say I did not achieve a lot in 2023 because I got into the Texas State University last 2022 and am trying to acclimatise with the situation of things. I give glory to God that I was able to achieve Personal Best (PB) in my Hammer and Discuss”.

Sam told www.aclsports.com that moving to the United State of America has helped shape her career and give her access to training facilities.

She said, “My change of environment from Nigeria to the United States of America has given me an edge. The training facilities help me to build a lot and my coach assists me with my pushes in the Throws. I have been able to improve in many areas of my career”.

Utitofon James Sam had a Personal Best (PB) in the Discus Throw with 52.44m at the 2023 Sun Belt Outdoor Track and Field Championship, a PB in the Hammer Throw with 55.24m at the 2023 Charles Austin Classic and another PB in the Weight Throw with 17.85m at the 2023 Sun Belt Outdoor Track and Field Championship.
