Daniel Amas, John Emmanuel and Mercy Genesis have also left Nigeria for the World Wrestling Championship in Lutte, Paris, to join their colleagues who left a day head of them, due to logistics issues. The trio will join their colleagues at the championships which is underway, with the Greco-Roman event setting the pace for the female freestyle and male freestyle to follow on Wednesday to Saturday.

ACLSports.com gathered that the remaining wrestlers checked in about 5:10 am today (Tuesday), but is unsure of the Head Coach, Victor Kodei departure.

Three times African champion, Daniel Amas (65kg) seeks to avenge his disastrous outing at the 2017 Africa Championships but told Nigerians not to expect magic from him in the male category.

Another wrestler eyeing to cause an upset at the games in John Emmanuel (70kg) who won a gold medal at his first ever Africa Championship in Marrakech, Morocco.
