Two quarter final games in Nigeria’s Oldest Club football cup competition, AITEO Cup have been shifted by twenty four hours for different reasons.

The games, one each in the Men and Women’s draw will now hold on Sunday, September 24 as against the original dates of Saturday, September 23.

In the men’s draw, the postponed first leg encounter between Akwa United and Katsina United Feeders will now hold at the training pitch of the Nest of Champions, Uyo on Sunday.

The postponement is necessitated by the 30th anniversary of Akwa-Ibom state’s creation which holds at the Nest of Champions on Saturday. Both teams will face in the return leg at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium, Katsina next Wednesday.

In the women’s draw, defending champions Rivers Angels have also had their second leg fixture against Nigeria Women Premier League side Edo Queens in Benin City shifted to Sunday.

The reason for this postponement was said to be due to ongoing repair works on the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium but further checks by www.aclsports.com reveal that the said repair might have been used as a smokescreen so as to allow for the attendance of top Edo State government officials at the match venue on Sunday.

Both teams played out a goalless draw in Port Harcourt on Wednesday, leaving the return leg tie up for grabs for any of the teams.

The six remaining second leg fixtures, three in each category will hold as scheduled on Saturday across the venues.
