Defending Champions FC Ifeanyiubah cruised into the semi-finals of the AITEO Cup on Saturday after a 4-0 aggregate win over relegated NPFL side ABS FC.

Holding a 3-0 advantage from the first leg, midfielder Patrick Ikeokwu scored the only goal in Ifeanyiubah’s 1-0 win over their opponents in the second leg fixture decided at the Kwara State Sports Complex, Ilorin.

The Anambra Warriors will now wait until Sunday morning to know who their opponents in the semi final will be after the all-NPFL clash between league champions Plateau United and Niger Tornadoes was put off due to a torrential downpour in Jos.

United have a two-goal deficit to overturn after having lost the first leg 2-0 at the Confluence Stadium in Lokoja on Wednesday.

In the women’s draw, last year’s beaten finalists Bayelsa Queens advanced to the semi-finals after a penalty shootout victory over Nasarawa Amazons in Lafia.

Amarachi Okoronkwo’s 55th minute effort cancelled out Bayelsa’s 1-0 first leg lead but the hosts were undone in the ensuing shootout, Bayelsa Queens running out 4-2 winners.

In Lokoja, Abia Angels claimed a dramatic 2-2 draw against Confluence Queens to advance 3-2 on aggregate.

Ozuluchi Amaewhule and Ifeoma Polinus has given the host a 2-0 lead on the night but the visitors scored twice in the final ten minutes to level the scores and progress after their 1-0 first leg success in Umuahia.

The last quarter final tie will be decided on Sunday when defending champions Rivers Angels travel to Edo Queens. Both teams drew goalless in the first leg on Wednesday.
