Africa Para Games: Nigeria wheelchair b/ball get tough draw

Nigeria’s women’s wheelchair basketball team have been drawn in group A for the 2023 Africa Para Games in Ghana.

The inaugural African Paralympic Games is scheduled to take place in Accra, Ghana, from September 3 to 12.

Nigeria is drawn in Group A dubbed “tough” alongside Algeria, Kenya and Zambia.

Meanwhile, Nigeria’s men’s wheelchair basketball team has been drawn in Group C with South Africa and Central African Republic

A total of 8 teams will feature in the women’s event while a total of 12 teams were drawn in the men’s event of the wheelchair basketball at the Africa Para Games.

The wheelchair basketball competition will be the 2023 African Championships to decide which African nation proceeds to the IWBF Paris 2024 Repechage Tournaments next April.

 

Men’s Competition:

Group A: Ghana, Algeria, Uganda

Group B: Egypt, Kenya, Senegal

Group C: South Africa, Nigeria, Central Africa Republic

Group D: Morocco, Angola, DR Congo

 

Women’s Competition:

Group A: Algeria, Kenya, Nigeria, Zambia

Group B: Ghana, South Africa, DR Congo, Morocco
