Super Eagles head coach Gernot Rohr has kept faith with under-fire captain Ahmed Musa and goalkeeper Maduka Okoye for Tuesday’s important Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON22Q) qualification game against Sierra Leone in Freetown, www.aclsports.com reports.

Both players started Friday’s embarrassing 4-4 draw in the reverse fixture between at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City with many unimpressed with the output from the duo, along with Germany-born Kevin Akpoguma.

However, www.aclsports.com sources reveal that Rohr who is already without top marksman Victor Osimhen has decided to stick with the trio and has made just two changes to the eleven that started Friday’s game.

Leicester City forward Kelechi Iheanacho comes in for injured Osimhen while left back Zaidu Sanusi seems to have been punished for his part in the last goal Nigeria conceded in Benin; his place will now be taken by Fulham’s Ola Aina.

Tuesday’s game will be played at the National Stadium, Freetown with the turf (a natural surface) reported to be very hard and filled with holes, capable of stifling any attempt to play free-flowing football.

Nigeria need a win to book their place in the 2022 tournament to be hosted by neighbours Cameroon while any result other than that will put head coach Rohr under more pressure before the team’s next game in March 2021.

Sierra Leone vs Nigeria will start at 5pm Nigerian time and you can watch LIVE HERE.
