AFCON2019: Salah, Elneny named in Egypt’s 25-man squad

Hosts of the 2019 AFCON, Egypt, has officially made public their provisional 25-man squad with Premier League duo, Mohamed Salah and Mohamed Elneny, leading the pack.

Liverpool star, Salah, who is currently injured, Elneny of Arsenal were two notable names found on the list released by coach Javier Aguirre on Tuesday.

Also included are West Brom Albion defender, Ahmed Hegazi Aston Villa’s Ahmed El-Mohamady, and Mohammed Hassan Trezequet, who plies his trade in the Turkish Super Lig.

The Pharaohs find themselves in Group A alongside the trio of Uganda, DR Congo and Zimbabwe.

They kickoff their quest for a seventh title with a game against Zimbabwe on June 21 in Cairo.
