Ada Okey said Safety Babes Handball Club will continue to win the Ardova Handball Premier League due to the quality of players engaged by the technical crew.

Safety Babes HC will face COAS Babes in their first match at the 2024 Ardova Handball Premier League (1st phase) in Benin City, Edo State on Monday.

Okey told www.aclsports.com that Safety Babes can become the first female team to win the league on four consecutive occasion.

She said, “Safety Babes is the most coordinated and well organised female club in Nigeria. Over time, we have displayed high level of discipline on and off the court and results are there for all to see. The handball women’s title is the inheritance of Safety Babes because of the caliber of players we possess.

“In the last six years, Safety Babes HC have lifted the title four times. We did not lift the trophy during the inaugural Prudent Energy Handball League in 2018 where we finished second and in 2020. We remain the only club that has lifted the title three consecutive times and by the Grace of God, we are targeting the fourth title this year”.

The former Abia Valliants player said she has enjoyed maximum support from her teammates and the technical crew, promising to reciprocate the gesture by putting her best during matches.

She said, “I am going to take every game seriously because we are the only team that is currently unbeaten since 2022. I have enjoyed the cooperation of my teammates on the court of play, they have been the reason why I put in my best; the coaches have always believed my capacity and I promise not to let them down this season.

“As Safety Babes HC takes on COAS Babes in their first match, we will not take the game lightly as we want to score more goals as possible in order not to leave any chances.
