NPFL WK 7 Preview: Champions Plateau host Sunshine Stars, leaders Akwa entertain Wikki

The games are coming thick and fast in the Nigerian Professional Football League, NPFL, and this weekend, it reaches week seven.

After their midweek defeat in Kano, defending champions, Plateau United, will be hoping to bounce back when they take on Sunshine Stars of Akure at home.

In Uyo, can league leaders, Akwa United maintain their impressive start to the season when they host the side from Bauchi, Wikki Tourists?

For the second game week in a row, the Sani Abacha stadium in Kano will be the host of the top clash  as Kano Pillars welcome CAF Champions League hopefuls, Mountain of Fires and Ministries, MFM FC.

With Junior Lokosa in the form of his life, having scored six goals in as many games, Sai Masu Gida will be very confident against the side from Lagos, as they continue to put pressure on the top two, Plateau, and the Promise Keepers, Akwa.

In Umuahia, it’s the Oriental derby, as Abia Warriors host 2016 league winners, Rangers International, while another derby, this time in Port Harcourt, sees struggling side, Rivers United at home to their newly promoted neighbors, Go Round FC.
