MFM FC made it three wins in three on Wednesday evening with a win against Wikki Tourists to extend their impressive unbeaten run at the Agege Soccer Temple.

An early goal from Adebayo Waheed put the home team in front after a good piece of play from new signing, Akila Jesse. It however didn’t take long before the team from Bauchi equalised from the penalty spot and it was only a matter of time before MFM FC regained the lead for a second time in the game.

This time, it was Waheed who returned the favour as Akila Jesse poked home what would be the winner on the 40th minute mark. Despite the dominance in the second half, MFM FC couldn’t make their chances count as countless opportunities to run riot were spurned by the home team.

They however settled for a 2-1 win with an interesting partnership similar to what we experienced last season between Sikiru Olatunbosun and Stephen Odey, brewing between the two goalscorers against Wikki.

There is no doubt that the Agege Township Stadium has become a fortress for MFM FC but their away form remains a subject of concern as they are yet to pick a point on the road so far this season.

Sunday presents the Lagos-based team with another opportunity to right this wrong, when they travel to Kano Pillars in search of their first point(s) away from home this season.
