The Para Badminton Federation will host its first ever workshop in October, the President of Badminton Federation of Nigeria, Francis Orbih says.

Orbih who stated this at the “Awards Night” organised by the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports to honour athletes said the workshop will be sponsored by the Badminton Confederation of Africa.

“We’ll be having a Para Badminton workshop which will be sponsored by the African body” Mr Obih says. “I just came back two days ago from South Africa, where the meeting was held. This is part of how the African boy feel they can support us”, Orbih said.

He said the 2018 is loaded with programmes for both athletes and the technical department.

“We’ve rolled out our calendar for the year 2018. One of the promises I made during my campaign was that we are going to have a robust and busy year”.

Orbih said “For this year, we have a minimum of five national Championships, age grade competitions because this is one of the focal points of the board. We want to discover younger players who can replace older athletes when they retire. We’ll also have seminars, workshops and courses for the technical department made up of coaches, umpires and referees”.
