An eventful season in the Bet9ja Nigeria National League ended on Tuesday evening as Go Round FC of Omoku were crowned Champions of the second tier league.

It was an entertaining one-sided game of football at the Agege Soccer Temple in Lagos, as Go Round FC  defeated Heartland FC 2-1 to emerge Champions of the 2017 NNL season.

A first half brace from Solomon Nwachukwu of Go Round FC on both sides of a beautifully struck freekick by Lucky Emariojake gave the team from Rivers a deserved win, despite spurning numerous goalscoring chances to take the game beyond Heartland of Owerri.

Heartland tried to make a comeback in the closing stages of the game, but the Go Round defence stood strong up till the final minute to ensure that the NNL trophy returns to Rivers state with them.
