All Africa Games Gold medalist, Melvin Bibo says all he wants is to be champion of the Greco-Roman and Senior freestyle category.

Bibo will wrestle in the 82kg Greco-Roman and 86kg freestyle at the ongoing National Wrestling Championships in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

“Last March, I narrowly lost to Tochukwu Okeke in finals of the Greco-Roman but this time around, it’s fight to the finish. I’ve been training for five months and the gold medal will not elude me this time around”, Bibo told aclsports.com.

The Africa bronze medalist said, “the freestyle is a walkover for me. My problem is not the gold medal here but Augusto Medina who has been giving me trouble in the African scene. His former coach, Victor Kodei who is now my coach is giving me serious orientation”.

Bibo vows to continue putting Bayelsa on the international map via his representation of the country at major wrestling tournaments. Adding that his ultimate aim is to become an Olympic medalist like the President Nigeria Wrestling Federation, Daniel Igali.
