Former African Champion, Suleiman Musa has called on the leadership of the Nigeria Judo Federation to name a substantial Technical Director.

In an exclusive interview with aclsports.com, Sule said athletes, coaches, referees and administrators are all aware of the technical director but the technical director is unknown.

The head coach Kogi state Judo association revealed that after the elections, the judo family has been silent. “We are aware that Dickson Egbowon is the technical director in the board of the Nigeria Judo Federation (NJF). But, who is the technical director”?

“Why are we silent after the election? All of a sudden we all went underground and stop searching for a way out for ourselves. Do we expect other people from other sports to come to our aid?” Sule said one of the campaigners of the present leadership made the Judo family believe that the current board can deliver.

He drew the attention of the federation that the Commonwealth Games are not far away. “The Commonwealth Games are less than seven months away, let us hope our Federation can start preparing our athletes by camping them now in phases”, he said.

A coach with the Ogun state sports council, Olatunji Ogidan said he is patiently waiting for the fulfillment of the promises made by the current board.

“For me I chose to keep quiet because I think everything that has to be done is known to the board members. I am waiting for the full implementation of the plans and fulfillment of promises”.

In a swift reaction, the Secretary General NJF, Davies Oludare said the appointment of the Technical Director was discussed at the last board meeting but did not reach a conclusion. He disclosed that the technical director will be unveiled at the next board meeting in Benin.
