The Para Badminton Training Camp in Egypt started last Friday October 20th and ended on Monday October 23rd 2017.
The President Nigeria Para Badminton Federation (NPBF), Samuel Ekeoma who disclosed this to aclsports.com attributed the non participation to lack of funds.
He recalled that Nigeria was also missing at the Japanese championship last September despite efforts to get funds.
“The training camp would have been a great opportunity for Nigeria athletes to show her Africa counterparts that we possess good athletes but as usual, funds stopped us”.
“Nigeria’s Bello Oyebanji is the best in his category and would have made him learn more in Egypt. The private sector and philanthropists have to rescue the special sports from this constant non participation of international tournaments”, he said
Algeria, Egypt, Ghana, South Africa and Uganda are the five countries participating in the first African Para-Badminton Training Camp.
