Nigeria is set to lose Chelsea duo, Tammy Abraham and Fikayo Tomori, after England manager, Gareth Southgate, named both players in his latest squad on Thursday.
Abraham and Tomori lead the 25-man list revealed by the English FA for the Euro Qualifiers against the Czech Republic and Bulgaria with Nigeria set to miss out on the duo.
The invitation comes after the duo’s excellent start to the season for Chelsea in the Premier League and Champions League.
Abraham is one of the top scorers in the PL on seven goals, and on Wednesday, in the occasion of his birthday, netted his first goal in the Champions League for the Blues.
Tomori has also been impressive for the London side at the heart of the defence, and have scored a goal in the PL this season.
Abraham, who turned 22 on Wednesday, returns to the Three Lions for the first time since 2017 when he featured in the international friendlies against Germany and Brazil.
For defender, Tomori, his brilliant start to the season earns him his first-ever call-up the Three Lions, having previously been capped at U19, U20 and U21 level.
The International career of both players has been a subject of heated debate amongst football fans in Nigeria and England.
However, with this invitation to the Three Lions, Nigeria looks set to lose yet another set of talented players to England after Ross Barkley and Dele Alli.
England currently sits top of group A with four wins from four games and could seal qualification for UEFA EURO 2020 next summer with a victory in Prague next Friday.
