Volleyball: Travel weary Nigeria trounced by Kenya in opening game

Kenya female volleyball team defeated Nigeria 3-0 at the second game of the 2017 Africa Nations Cup in Yaounde on Saturday.

The defending champions ran riot over the West Africa ladies in the three sets proving her dominance. In the first set, Nigeria gave Kenya a good game but ended up losing to the stronger Kenyans by 16-25.

Kenya in the second set capitalized on the poor judgement of the falcons whereby humbling her by 25-8. The third set was well fought out in the early minutes but it ended 10-25, concluding the game at 3-0 in favour of the Kenya who will face Congo RD on Monday at 2pm Ivorian time.

Meanwhile, the Nigeria team will seek redemption as they slug it out with the North African side, Tunisia by 2pm on Sunday at the Palais des Sports.

In the first match of the day, Senegal overpowered RD Congo by 3-1 major set.
The Senegalese narrowly won the first set by 25-21 against RD Congo before the second set took a twist in favour of Congo 21-25. The third and fourth set went the way of the Lioness (Senegal) 25-21 and 25-15 RD Congo.
