All is set for the 2023 BIU Invitational Volleyball Challenge, according to the Commanding Officer of the Admin Battalion, Nigerian Army University, Biu, Lieutenant Colonel Julius Usman.

The BIU Invitational Volleyball Challenge is scheduled for 9th to 12th February, 2023 at the Nigerian Army University Volleyball court and the ABOGO Largema Cantonment in Biu, Borno State.

The participating teams includes; Yelwa Spikers VC of Bauchi, Abogo Spikers VC of Biu, Boro Spikers VC of Kaduna, Adamawa Spikers VC of Yola and Rhino VC of Jos.

Lt Col Usman said the BIU Invitational Volleyball Challenge 2023 would empower unemployed youths in the North East through the discovery of their natural talents.

He said  the championship is aimed at harnessing the great potentials in the barracks youths which hitherto has remained untapped.

“The Invitational Challenge will expose players to a high level of competition adding that younger players stand the chance of getting selected ahead of the 2023 Nigeria Volleyball Leagues.

“The present Board of Nigeria Volleyball Federation led by Engineer Musa Nimrod is a strong advocate of developmental programs in the country,” he added.

Usman admonished the players to believe in themselves, develop their talents and engage in productive activities that will enable them to become self-reliant.
