Nigeria senior national team, the Super Eagles, on Thursday evening landed at the Fès–Saïss Airport in Fes ahead of Tuesday’s 2025 AFCON group C opener against Tanzania, www.aclsports.com reports.
The Nigerian continent comprising of 28 players, backroom staff, and some Federation officials, touched down in Northern Morocco City from Cairo, Egypt.
Nigeria had earlier faced Egypt in a pre-tournament friendly, which Victor Osimhen, Moses Simon, and Samuel Chukwueze missed, but arrived just in time to team up with the squad before they left for Fes.
The team have since checked into their base, the five-star Hotel Saharai, which offers both comfort and history. Perched confidently on a hillside overlooking Fez’s New Town, the hotel offers panoramic vistas of the historic city, with clear views of the iconic El Bali Medina and Mount Zalagh.
After this evening’s training was cancelled, head coach Eric Chelle and his crew will lead out the team in their first training session on later on Friday.
Tanzania, Tunisia, and Uganda, who will face Nigeria in the Group stage, are all based in Rabat and will have to make repeated trips to Fez for their matches against the Super Eagles.
Nigeria will trade tackles with Tanzania in their group opener on Tuesday, two days before Christmas.
