The 2020/21 Confederation of African Football (CAF) inter-club competitions have now been scheduled to start in November, Africa’s football governing body confirmed on Tuesday.

According to a finalised calendar for the next football season released by CAF, the first registration period for both competitions is expected to last between October 21 to November 5 while the second registration period will be between November 6 and November 8, 2020.

The preliminary rounds of the two competitions: CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup will hold between November 11 and November 20 while the group stage of the Champions League is scheduled to start on February 12, 2021.

@CAF_Online has confirmed that 2020/21 #TotalCAFCL & #TotalCAFCC will start in November.

These countries will have 2 teams in each competition:

1. Morocco
2. Egypt
3. Tunisia
4. Congo DR
5. Algeria
6. South Africa

It is expected that at least one Nigerian club will be involved in the preliminary stages most especially Plateau United in the Champions League and possibly Rivers United in the Confederation Cup.

Enyimba FC are expected to be seeded in the competition they are entered for, due to their pedigree in continental competitions but it is unlikely that Kano Pillars rank among the seeded teams in the Confederation Cup.

The calendar reveals further that the 2020/21 season will climax in July 2021 with the final match of the CAF Champions League billed to hold on July 17, seven days after the CAF Confederation Cup final.
