Powerlifting: Nigeria lifters to miss World Championship

Only Two Nigeria Para Powerlifters will eventually participate at this year’s World Para Powerlifting European Championships. The World Championships in Berck-Sur-Mer, France is for May 25th to 29th, 2018.

Nigeria was to present a team of Seven Paralympic Champions and World Champions but their dreams were shattered yesterday.

www.aclsports.com learnt that the French embassy did not attend to the secretariat of the Nigeria Powerlifting Federation on time to get the visa applications through.

In the end only two Nigeria Powerlifters were granted visas which meant that the other 15 lifters are automatically out of the Championships.

The names of the two lifters are yet to be disclosed.

Lifters like Ali Jawad of Britain, Bruno Carra of Brazil and many other lifters have arrived the venue of the championships
