V/ball League: Police shock NSCDC, Customs rout Prisons

The male team of Nigeria Police Force on Tuesday caused an upset against the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) in the Day three of the Nigeria Volleyball Federation 2017/2018 League.

The Police Force ran away with with 25-21 victory in the first set but the NSCDC leveled the score in the second set with a result of 25-16.

The Police then won the last two sets 25-15, 25-18 to record the 3-1 victory over an experienced NSCDC.

A well composed Nigeria Custom Service (NCS) recorded a 3-0 victory over the Nigeria Police Force (NPF). The Customs boys showed its class throughout the match winning the first, second and third sets 25-16 each.

The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), also recorded a 3-0 victory over the Nigerian Army.

The NIS won the first set 25-19 and came out victorious also in the second set with a point of 25 against 19. The Army fought better in the third set and almost took the third set to the fourth but eventually lost 28 points to 26 after it had deuced the set.

In the female event, Nigeria Customs Service annihilated the Nigeria Police by 3-0 (25-20, 25-16, 25-19) to remain unbeaten throughout the league.

While a gallant Nigeria Army female team fell 1-3 to Nigeria Immigrations Service in a dramatic match on Tuesday afternoon.

The Nigeria Army girls dominated the first set of the game 25-15 but could not hold grip as the lost the second, third and fourth set; 23-28, 16-25, 16-25.

The matches the fans would love to watch on Day 4 are the games between the Nigeria Customs Service and Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps in the male and female category.
