Mohamed Salah’s impressive debut season continues, after he scored four goals as Liverpool convincingly defeated Watford 4-0 at Anfield.
Goals from Salah and Roberto Firmino moved the Reds third on the PL standings.
Salah opened the scoring after firing past Orestis Karnezis, following a pass on the right from Sadio Mane.
Just before the break, that man again, Salah doubled Liverpool’s advantage, as he got at the end of brilliant cross from left back, Andrew Robertson.
Moments into the second half, Salah’s incredible performance continued, this time he turned provider for Firmino, who finishes with a delicious flick inside the far post to put the Reds 3-0 up.
Things got worse for the visitors, as the Egypt international added a fourth, for his first PL hattrick, before wrapping up a comfortable win with a fifth for the hosts late on.
With those goals, Salah becomes the first Reds player to score four goals in a single PL game since Luis Suarez achieved similar feat against Norwich City in 2013.
The victory sees Jurgen Klopp side climb to third on the log, opening up a seven-point lead over Chelsea, who are fifth.
The Reds also remain unbeaten at home this season, but for the away side, Watford, a second successive defeat leaves them 11th, eight points above the relegation waters.
PALACE END LOSING STREAK
Crystal Palace are out of the danger zone, after a 2-0 win over Huddersfield Town.
James Tomkins started the scoring, before a penalty from Luka Milivojevic sealed an important victory and three points for the Eagles.
The result ends Palace’s run of four defeats, which them rise to 16th, two points above the bottom three.
